About The Position

Employee is responsible for assisting the Pharmacist by stocking and maintaining inventory in the IV areas. They will assist IV Technicians in the clean room and internal pharmacy area. This role involves accurate preparation and filling of prescriptions, ordering and stocking medications and supplies, monitoring inventory levels, and preparing patient orders for delivery. The technician will also learn pharmacy software to prepare IV labels, file prescriptions, align prepared products with labels and calculations for pharmacist review, and ready IVs and supplies for delivery. Additionally, the role includes ordering and purchasing clean room supplies and compounding products, and contributing to a positive work climate.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Technician Certification required.
Must be registered with the State of Tennessee within 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

Pharmacy Technician experience.
Retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assisting the Pharmacist by stocking and maintaining inventory in the IV areas.
Assisting IV Technicians in the clean room and internal pharmacy area.
Accurate preparation and filling of written, telephone, faxed and electronic prescriptions.
Ordering, stocking medications and supplies, and monitoring inventory levels on a daily basis.
Filling patient orders and preparing them for delivery.
Learning pharmacy software to prepare IV labels as needed.
Typing, distributing, or filing prescriptions, and other department materials.
Aligning all prepared products with labels and calculations for the pharmacists to check.
Readying IV’s and supplies for delivery and/or mail outs.
Ordering and purchasing clean room supplies and compounding products.
Performing related responsibilities as required or directed.
