Requirements

  • Working knowledge of state pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Understanding of pharmacy workflow procedures and workstation functions.
  • Familiarity with third-party plans, claim adjudication, audits, and reimbursement processes.
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices, recalls, returns, and expiration management.
  • Basic understanding of pharmacy financial reports and economic relationships.
  • Awareness of customer service standards and company operational guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and pharmacy information systems.
  • Knowledge of technician certification, licensing, and continuing education requirements.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical and procedural written materials.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Ability to train, guide, and direct pharmacy support staff effectively.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions, counting, recording, and data entry accurately.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and demonstrated instructions with precision.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to function effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced, and occasionally stressful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, consistently demonstrating care, concern, and patience.
  • Greet, assist, thank, and invite customers to return, following company Greet, Offer, and Thank (GOT) standards.
  • Assist customers with product location, accessibility needs, heavy items, and service-related requests to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Support pharmacists in all pharmacy operations within legal and regulatory limits.
  • Coordinate pharmacy workflow and staffing coverage to ensure service efficiency and priority management.
  • Serve as the pharmacy computer systems expert and primary trainer for pharmacy support staff.
  • Train, coach, and direct pharmacy technicians, clerks, and interns as requested by pharmacy management.
  • Maintain inventory control, including ordering, receiving, returns, recalls, outdated, and overstocked products.
  • Process non-controlled drug orders and assist with physical inventory preparation.
  • Act as third-party billing expert, ensuring accurate claim processing, audits, rejected claim resolution, and staff training.
  • Assist with pharmacy financial documentation, pricing surveys, marketing initiatives, and profitability activities.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, legal regulations, safety, sanitation, and appearance standards.
  • Participate in district, divisional, and in-store training programs, projects, and special initiatives.
