This full-time position is responsible for completing area-specific work as outlined by standard processes and procedures, adhering to policies. The role serves as an expert with equipment and technology in a specialized area, problem-solving technical issues as they arise. The Pharmacy Technician Specialist I ensures documents and records are accurate and completed in a timely fashion, supports methods of communication and coordination with patients and the care team, and identifies quality improvement opportunities based on their specialized skill set to ensure safe, effective, and efficient services and patient care. They provide input to and support the implementation of operational changes, advancements, and site and system standardization. Additionally, they participate in site or system specialized work teams, committees, and councils as applicable, comply with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards, and keep current with changes in the specialized field, collaborating with department leadership to adopt best practices. The role involves maintaining updated knowledge and skills, contributing to the education of others, and positively contributing to the execution of pharmacy department initiatives. They also accept assignments of tasks from other pharmacy teammate roles when workload dictates.
