Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Be registered and/or licensed as required in the state of practice.
Hold a national pharmacy technician certification credential (PTCB/NHA).
Have excellent customer service skills.
Have proficient typing skills and neat, legible penmanship.
Demonstrate organizational and prioritization skills.
Demonstrate teamwork and reliable attendance.
Have basic math skills.
Have excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
Have effective communication skills and be an agent of change.
Complete Meijer employer-based training if licensure is not required in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

Interact with patients at various service points of contact.
Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
Enter customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
Retrieve appropriate medications from inventory.
Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
Stock prescription medication.
Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy with a professional appearance.
Maintain the confidentiality of patient information.
