About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician Level IV practices the profession of pharmacy in an environment focused on patient care and provides friendly, remarkable customer service to support patient health. The role interacts with patients, promotes pharmacy initiatives and clinical services, and supports prescription processing and medication inventory operations. The technician must maintain patient confidentiality and a clean, orderly pharmacy. State registration or licensure and national technician certification are required as applicable.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Be registered and/or licensed as required in the state of practice.
National certification credential (PTCB/NHA) for a pharmacy technician.

Responsibilities

Interact with patients at various service points of contact.
Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
Enter customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
Retrieve appropriate medications from inventory.
Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
Stock prescription medication.
Prioritize and organize workload effectively.
Communicate effectively and act as an agent of change.
Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
