Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years current hospital pharmacy technician experience required
State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required (if required by state regulations)
Proficiency with various computer systems, EHR, ADS, and drug preparation or delivery systems
High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred
Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program preferred

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department not requiring the professional judgment of the pharmacist.
Supervisory and other responsibilities, such as Pyxis, Meditech, and Drug Ordering Expertise.
Technical duties such as maintaining patient records; setting-up, packaging and labeling medication doses; filling and dispensing routine orders for stock supplies of patient-care areas; maintaining inventories of drug supplies and mixing drugs with parenteral fluids.
Physician order entry, setting and updating the scheduling of technicians, supervising use of automated drug delivery equipment (Pyxis), maintaining quality assurance programs and generally overseeing the performance of pharmacy technicians.
