This full-time Pharmacy Technician Lead position is on the 3rd shift, working 7 on 7 off with 10-hour shifts, rotating from Wednesday to Tuesday. The role is based at the Winston Campus and is eligible for a $6,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. The Pharmacy Technician Lead will lead the shift or area/program by assigning, monitoring, and reviewing the progress and accuracy of technician work. They will act as a resource for the team, providing day-to-day direction and guidance on complex issues, resolving conflicts, and fostering a positive work environment. This role also assists leadership with teammate interviewing, selection, development, and engagement, creates staff schedules, monitors performance, and ensures adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Training, orienting, and educating team members to ensure competency and completion of required training programs are key responsibilities. The Lead will identify quality improvement opportunities and collaborate with leadership to design and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and engagement. Participation in performance improvement activities and ensuring proper documentation and compliance with legal, regulatory, and accrediting bodies are also essential. The position requires knowledge of automation and technology, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Collaboration with pharmacists and other healthcare providers in coordinating medication preparation, dispensing, and related processes is expected. The Lead will monitor and maintain inventory levels, process drug recalls, and ensure appropriate handling of controlled substances. They will also assist with duties of Technician I, II, III when needed, ensure proper documentation for department tasks, and review billing processes, adjusting patient bills and processing charges/credits as necessary. Assisting in the preparation and review of pharmacy training materials and programs, acting as a role model for safe, effective, and efficient care, and demonstrating expertise in pharmacy practices are also part of the role. The Lead will act as a liaison between the technician team and department leadership, and be knowledgeable in billing and insurance processes, including prior authorizations and third-party claims. Familiarity with age-specific care requirements and the ability to assess and meet the needs of diverse patient populations is also required. Other duties as assigned.
