About The Position

Princeton Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join their dynamic team in an office setting. This role supports a wide variety of medical specialties within a private medical practice that has over 30 providers and 8 medical specialties. Requirements

  • High School Graduate/GED/ Equivalent Work
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program
  • New Jersey Board of Pharmacy Technician registration
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
  • Minimum 2 years of previous pharmacy technician experience, including IV compounding and mixing.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and compound medications, including chemotherapy and biotherapy, as directed by the manager of infusion operations.
  • Work under the direction/supervision of the Clinic Operations Manager in all aspects of this position.
  • Preparation of medications for patients as directed by the Clinic Operations Manager.
  • Review prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain the needed ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability as directed by the Clinic Operations Manager.
  • Completion of patient paperwork/authorizations related to patient.
  • Compounds medications, chemotherapy, and biotherapy using proper aseptic technique, under the guidance and instruction of the Clinic Operations Manager.
  • Assess the identity, strength, or purity of medications under the guidance of the Clinic Operations Manager.
  • Perform mathematical calculations to determine appropriate drug measurements for compounding of ordered medications.
  • Follow and maintain procedures for missing packaging, or labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal under the direction of the Clinic Operations Manager.
  • Conduct routine medication inventories including monitoring for drugs expiring, and assist with inventory control of medications in the infusion room, storage room, and satellite locations.
  • Assist Clinic Operations Manager in ordering supplies and medication.
  • Receive and restock medications.
  • Maintain any necessary Quality Assurance logs, including (but not limited to) cleaning logs, temperature logs, waste logs, expired and destroyed medication logs, and others.
  • Perform daily/weekly cleaning of infusion room and equipment as required per PMG's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in training and orientation of additional pharmacy technicians as needed.
  • Report issues and concerns to supervising Clinic Operations Manager in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a good attendance record.
  • Other duties as assigned by Clinic Operations Manager, etc.
