This caregiver would work 5, 8 hour shifts per week. Rotating day/evening/possibly nights (if coverage is needed)/weekends/holidays. Shifts are 6am-2:30pm, 7:30am-4pm, 11:30am-8pm, 1pm-9:30pm, 8pm-6am (less common, night shift). No on call requirements.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
Understanding of algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds
Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP).
A status as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with OBOP does not qualify for this role.

Nice To Haves

Six months of hospital experience
Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program
Prior inpatient experience

Responsibilities

Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.
Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Document regulatory requirements, including temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.
Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.
