This position prepares and packages medication dosage forms for various routes of administration for patient use and in research protocols. The role involves preparing sterile intravenous admixtures, including chemotherapy and total parenteral nutrition solutions, using aseptic technique. The Pharmacy Technician will distribute medications from the pharmacy in accordance with state and federal laws, maintain accurate dispensing records, and ensure efficient area operations to provide optimal customer service. This role operates under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and is responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels of medications, equipment, and supplies. Active registration as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is required, along with fulfilling continuing education and competency requirements. If registered as a trainee, completion of the OSUWMC employer-based training program within 365 days of hire is necessary, followed by updating registration to Registered Pharmacy Technician status.
