About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician III performs most technical functions involved in the medication use process. The technician assists the Pharmacist with the preparation and compounding of pharmaceutical products, assesses pharmacy product inventory, and resolves insurance claim problems during dispensing, as applicable to the location. The role includes training new staff and cross-training in two key functional areas. Additional duties may be assigned within the scope of the role.

This position is based at Baptist Medical Center South and follows a 7-on/7-off second-shift schedule. Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing hospital-based and outpatient services to residents of Montgomery, Autauga, and Elmore counties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy technician experience.
• Valid Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) registration.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
• Maintain professional, customer-centric composure in difficult or challenging situations.
• Prioritize workload to achieve maximum efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with people throughout the organization.
• Provide a positive customer service experience.
• Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations.
• Accurately type and perform assigned computer duties.
• Proficiency in pharmaceutical calculations and the metric system; cash register use if applicable.
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and competency with Microsoft Outlook for email communication.
• Competency with pharmacy systems and related technology and equipment for the practice setting.
