About The Position

This position includes patient tracking, processing patient claims, customer service, issue resolution and/or escalation. The Pharmacy Technician III is responsible for data entry, requesting and following up on refill requests, processing Medicare and transplant claims, and working on high-level adjudicated claims. The role also supports mail order, specialty, transplant, and limited distribution pharmacy patients, coordinating medication orders, delivery, supplies, and equipment under the direction of a pharmacist.

Requirements

At least 1 year of healthcare experience, including 6 months as a pharmacy technician.
Minnesota Pharmacy Technician credential.

Nice To Haves

Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program.
2 years of pharmacy technician experience in a call center environment.
National Pharmacy Technician credential.

Responsibilities

Complete intake for mail order, specialty, transplant, and limited distribution pharmacy patients, including new patient enrollment, insurance verification, and medication refill and delivery scheduling.
Under the direction of a pharmacist, receive prescriptions or orders from patients and process them manually or through the appropriate computer system and protocols accurately and promptly, in accordance with legal, regulatory agency, and Fairview requirements.
Coordinate ordering and delivery of medications, supplies, and equipment to patients and clinical areas as requested.
Provide backup phone coverage, data collection, reporting, process improvement, and maintenance of patient education materials, as assigned.
Track patients, process patient claims, provide customer service, resolve or escalate issues, enter data, request and follow up on refills, and process Medicare, transplant, and high-level adjudicated claims.
