About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician II assists pharmacists with technical duties related to filling medication orders and preparing IV admixtures. The role also participates in technical and administrative pharmacy functions. Travel is never or rarely required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of sterile products experience.
- State Pharmacy Technician (PHT) license.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification within one year of hire.
Nice To Haves
- One year of sterile compounding experience.
- One year of pharmaceutical or pharmacology experience.
- Pharmacy Intern Permit (PHINTERN) from the State Licensing Board.
Responsibilities
- Restock and check Pyxis machines and nursing units, including onsite and offsite units.
- Verify the integrity of medications in Pyxis machines and floor stock areas.
- Make routine deliveries of filled medication orders and pick up new orders to be filled.
- Package medications that are not prepackaged and maintain their records.
- Assist as a second check in the accuracy of the order entry process.
- Prepare and deliver intravenous piggyback admixtures.
