Pharmacy Technician II KCC - Per Diem
About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician II role is located within the Kellogg Cancer Center Infusion Centers. This position involves preparing sterile compounded products for IV infusion, managing inventory of supplies and medications, and assisting pharmacists with medication records and files. The role requires rotation across multiple Kellogg Cancer Center locations and potentially other infusion centers as needed. This is a per diem position, meaning hours are as needed, typically Monday through Friday with rotating shifts between 7 am and 6 pm (8-hour shifts). Travel between sites is required based on the rotating schedule.
Requirements
- Current Illinois Registered Pharmacy Technician license required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred; certification required within two years of initial licensure.
- Prior technician experience or hospital experience preferred.
- Motivated to learn aseptic compounding skills and is a quick learner looking for a new challenge

- If candidate does not have prior compounding and/or hospital experience, then we are willing to provide on the job training.
Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile compounded products for IV infusion (such as bags, syringes, pumps) in accordance with sterile clean room regulations
- Ensure there is adequate inventory of supplies and medications available as needed for patient care
- Assist pharmacists in maintaining medications records and files as needed
- Place medication and supply orders to maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Other duties as assigned
