About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician II at Kellogg Cancer Center is responsible for preparing sterile compounded products for IV infusion, ensuring adequate inventory of supplies and medications, assisting pharmacists with medication records, and placing medication and supply orders. This role involves rotating across multiple Kellogg Cancer Center locations and potentially other infusion centers as needed. The position offers opportunities for professional growth and development within a fully integrated healthcare delivery system.

Requirements

• Current Illinois Registered Pharmacy Technician license
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred; certification required within two years of initial licensure
• Prior technician experience or hospital experience preferred
• Motivated to learn aseptic compounding skills and is a quick learner looking for a new challenge

• Prior compounding and/or hospital experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile compounded products for IV infusion (such as bags, syringes, pumps) in accordance with sterile clean room regulations
• Ensure there is adequate inventory of supplies and medications available as needed for patient care
• Assist pharmacists in maintaining medications records and files as needed
• Place medication and supply orders to maintain appropriate inventory levels
• Other duties as assigned
