About The Position

This is a Term Full-Time Position (1.0 FTE) from August 24, 2026, to August 6, 2027. The position is at the L05 level with an hourly pay range of $33.93 - $42.93 and is part of the PSAC Bargaining Unit. Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the incumbent performs complex duties as part of the Pharmacy team. These duties include manufacturing various sterile products, intravenous solutions, and chemotherapy; performing order entry; measuring, manufacturing, compounding, and packaging medications; organizing and distributing medications; and assisting with purchasing and receiving. The position involves making decisions regarding the quantity of items packaged/compounded, medication quantities (including compounded parenteral products), and determining quantities of supplies stocked in dispensary inventory in consultation with the Pharmacy Manager. Purchasing and receiving duties are also performed as required.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods for various sterile products, intravenous solutions, and chemotherapy drugs
  • Ability to measure, manufacture, compound, package, and distribute medications
  • Analytical skills
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Basic computer skills, including typing
  • Ability to operate related equipment
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary work team
  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Graduated from a nationally recognized Pharmacy Technician course including a hospital pharmacy practicum (or judged equivalent experience)

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years hospital pharmacy experience
  • National Certification from the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC)
  • Registration with a Canadian College of Pharmacy
  • Meditech experience
  • 6-12 months experience preparing chemotherapy
