About The Position

Pharmacy Technician II – Full Time Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together Work location: Texas Health Medical Support 1100 Bridgewood Street TX 76112 Work hours: Full time (40hours) Day shift Medical Support This position works primarily in an IV clean room setting. As such, knowledge of USP 797 and the Texas State Board of Pharmacy Rules for sterile products is a must. It is a busy environment and requires the employee to possess stamina as they will be in the IV clean room for approximately 6 hours per day. The employees will also be responsible for stocking and cleaning the IV room prior to the end of their shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire required
Knowledge of USP 797 and the Texas State Board of Pharmacy Rules for sterile products is a must.
Stamina as they will be in the IV clean room for approximately 6 hours per day.

Nice To Haves

6 Months experience in a Texas Health hospital pharmacy preferred
Other IV Certification Upon Hire preferred

Responsibilities

Functionality requiring additional competency above Tech I, may require less supervision than a Tech I
Autonomous responsibility either with record keeping or as a single point of contact outside the department
Advanced technology expertise and ownership
Delegated functions of pharmacy leadership (manager or lead technicians)
Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards, programs and initiatives.
Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors. Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel.
Manages own time and shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies. Validates competency completion for new employees.
Stocking and cleaning the IV room prior to the end of their shift.
