About The Position

This position is a Full-Time, Days, Variable 1st shift with a rotating schedule, working Monday through Friday, with no weekends and no holidays. The Pharmacy Technician II will help pharmacists prepare and process medication orders to ensure patients and departments receive the correct medications on time and are charged correctly. This role involves organizing daily tasks for maximum efficiency, maintaining medicine stock in good condition, and offering pharmacy services in patient care areas. The technician will participate in team efforts to improve quality, support the Pharmacy Department's commitment to Total Quality principles, and keep knowledge and skills up to date, assisting in educating others. They will set personal goals to support quality improvement and departmental objectives and follow hospital standards to create a positive work environment through good communication, relationships, and teamwork. Additionally, the role requires providing care tailored to different age groups as per Age Specific Care Guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • PTCB/NHA technician certification (CPhT) required.
  • North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration as a pharmacy technician required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of a formal technician training program preferred.
  • One-year previous pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Associate degree in a healthcare or business-related field preferred.
