About The Position

This is a per diem/casual, non-benefited position with 8-hour varied shifts located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas. Must be available for a minimum of 4 days (primarily weekends) in a 4 week schedule, plus one holiday block. Training can be up to full time hours for the first 4 weeks, or 20 training shifts based on availability. The Pharmacy Technician will join the tight-knit team at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas and will have ample opportunity to experience all aspects of inpatient pharmacy operations, including medication distribution, repackaging, sterile and non-sterile compounding. The Pharmacy Technician will also have the opportunity to train for tech-check-tech operations and cross-train in other specialized roles, including medication history, buyer, medication safety and systems analyst.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • California Board of Pharmacy Certification Required

Nice To Haves

  • Certification by National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board preferred
  • 1 year inpatient experience preferred or hospital externship
