About The Position

This is a casual (per diem) position working varied 8-hour shifts, primarily day shift; however, flexibility to cover PM and overnight shifts may be required. The role requires scheduling flexibility throughout the week, including weekends, holidays, and participation in the on-call rotation with staff. This position is located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas. Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas is a 173-bed acute care facility in coastal north county San Diego and is home to notable specialty programs including a 24-hour emergency room, accredited stroke care, physical rehabilitation services (including a brain injury day treatment program). Requirements

  • ARRT(MR), ARMRIT, or CRT
  • Completion of a venipuncture class. Certificate must be provided at the time of application; 10 successful sticks must be completed within 30 days of hire.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Completion of a formal training/educational program from an approved school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent education and experience in radiologic imaging obtained through a hospital-based training program or other formalized on-the-job training program, combined with current licensure/certification
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as an MRI Technician
  • Experience working with multiple pacemaker programmers
  • Experience performing MRI scans on patients with MRI Conditional pacemakers
  • Experience scanning patients with other implanted electronic devices, including neurostimulators
  • Experience reviewing implanted device documentation and identifying MRI conditions and requirements
  • Experience appropriately clearing implanted devices for MRI scheduling in accordance with established protocols

Nice To Haves

  • Cardiac MRI experience
  • Strong background in MRI safety; MRSO certification preferred
  • Experience working with Siemens and Tesla MRI scanners

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI scans on patients with MRI Conditional pacemakers
  • Scan patients with other implanted electronic devices, including neurostimulators
  • Review implanted device documentation and identify MRI conditions and requirements
  • Appropriately clear implanted devices for MRI scheduling in accordance with established protocols
