This position is sign on bonus eligible. Based on eligibility. The Pharmacy Technician I assists licensed pharmacists in technical duties related to the preparation and distribution of medications. This includes accurately selecting, preparing, and labeling medications for patients, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances. The role also involves assisting with medication distribution tasks, screening phone calls, and managing pharmacy procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking. Responsibilities extend to performing nonsterile compounding and sterile IV admixture following USP standards and aseptic technique, inspecting medication storage areas, and completing medication admission histories. The technician will also be responsible for data entry, third-party billing functions, and potentially obtaining immunization certification and performing immunizations under supervision. Additionally, the role may involve operating an Advocate Health-owned motor vehicle to deliver medications and supplies between pharmacy locations.
