About The Position

This position is responsible for receiving orders from our wholesalers and vendors. You are expected to handle up to 50 lbs boxes and process/distribute received medications/IV fluids in various areas. Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location. Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and Patient Safety standards, programs, and initiatives. Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time. Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors. Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel. Shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • No experience is required
  • RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English language
  • Proficiency with computers
  • Ability to adapt to various software systems
  • Basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months of hospital or retail experience
  • Other IV Certification
