About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation, delivery, and storage of medications. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of one's own work, maintaining required competencies, and adhering to departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards. The technician will also focus on ongoing professional development, leading by example, perpetuating accountability, and managing their time effectively. Communication, developing positive working relationships, and role-modeling teamwork are essential. Additionally, the technician will train new employees on routine tasks and share responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs and discovering process efficiencies.

Requirements

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
No experience is required
RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire is required
Proficiency in written and verbal English language, computers, the ability to adapt to various software systems, and basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra.
The ability to work alone and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation.
