About The Position

BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy, a member of the Elevance Health family, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I for its Fulfillment team. This role is crucial for providing an unparalleled level of service focused on whole health, leveraging clinical expertise, digital capabilities, and broad access to specialty medications. The Pharmacy Technician I will be responsible for preparing and labeling prescriptions, including counting, weighing, measuring, and pouring medications, and filling automated medication systems. This is an onsite, full-time position that requires candidates to be within a reasonable commuting distance of the posted location.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy environment.
  • Valid Registered Pharmacy Technician required.

Nice To Haves

  • CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician).
  • Experience in a dispensing pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and labeling prescriptions.
  • Counting, weighing, measuring, and pouring prescription medication or stock legend drugs and controlled substances.
  • Filling an automated medication system.
  • Utilizing the pharmacy's adjudication platform to enter required information for prescription verification by a Pharmacist.
  • Maintaining compliance with State Board of Pharmacy, local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Communicating with prescribers, customers, other staff, and other entities to complete prescriptions.
  • Assisting the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling, and dispensing medications and supplies.
  • Arranging work activities to meet customer pharmaceutical needs.
  • Answering phones, responding to questions and requests, or referring them to appropriate staff for medication information.
  • Verifying data entry information.
  • Maintaining records by recording and filling physicians' orders and prescriptions.
  • Checking medication and administration supply inventory for out-of-date products and removing them from inventory.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
