About The Position

BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy, a member of the Elevance Health family, is seeking a Part-Time Pharmacy Technician for its Fulfillment department. This onsite role involves preparing and labeling prescriptions, counting, weighing, measuring, and pouring medications, and packing/shipping prescriptions for external courier pickup. The position also includes cross-training in inventory functions such as ordering, receiving, and inventory counting, as well as data entry for prescription details into the pharmacy system. The role requires adherence to State Board of Pharmacy regulations and other applicable laws, communication with prescribers and customers, and assisting the Pharmacist in dispensing medications. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean and safe pharmacy environment and managing out-of-date inventory.

Requirements

  • Requires H.S. diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy environment.
  • Valid Registered Pharmacy Technician required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a high-volume retail environment.
  • CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician).

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and labeling prescriptions.
  • Counting, weighing, measuring, and pouring prescription medication or stock legend drugs.
  • Packing and shipping of prescriptions for external courier pickup.
  • Cross-training in inventory functions including ordering, receiving, and inventory counting.
  • Data entry of prescription details into the pharmacy prescription system.
  • Utilizing the pharmacy’s adjudication platform to enter required information for legal requirements and pharmacist verification.
  • Maintaining compliance with regulations from applicable State Board of Pharmacy, local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Communicating with prescribers, customers, and other staff to complete prescriptions.
  • Assisting the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling, and dispensing of medications and supplies.
  • Arranging work activities to meet customer pharmaceutical needs.
  • Answering phones, responding to questions and requests, or referring them to appropriate staff for medication information.
  • Verifying data entry information.
  • Maintaining records by recording and filling physician’s orders and prescriptions.
  • Checking medication and administration supply inventory for out-of-date products, removing them, and working with the appropriate resource to record them.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
