About The Position

BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy, a proud member of the Elevance Health family of companies, is seeking a Part-Time Pharmacy Technician for its Fulfillment department. This role is responsible for preparing and labeling prescriptions, including counting, weighing, measuring, and pouring medications. The technician will also handle the packing and shipping of prescriptions for external courier pickup. Additionally, the role involves cross-training in inventory functions such as ordering, receiving, and inventory counting, as well as data entry of prescription details into the pharmacy system. BioPlus aims to provide consumers and providers with an unparalleled level of service, focusing on whole health through clinical expertise, digital capabilities, and broad access to specialty medications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy environment.
  • Valid Registered Pharmacy Technician.
  • Ability to work 20-32 hours per week (Monday-Thursday).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a high-volume retail environment.
  • CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician).

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and labels prescriptions.
  • Counts, weighs, measures, and pours prescription medication or stock legend drugs.
  • Packs and ships prescriptions for external courier pickup.
  • Orders, receives, and counts inventory.
  • Enters prescription details into the pharmacy prescription system.
  • Utilizes pharmacy’s adjudication platform to enter required information for legal requirements and pharmacist verification.
  • Maintains compliance with State Board of Pharmacy and federal regulations.
  • Communicates with prescribers, customers, and other staff to complete prescriptions.
  • Assists the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling, and dispensing medications and supplies.
  • Arranges work activities to meet customer pharmaceutical needs.
  • Answers phones, responds to questions, and refers complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Verifies data entry information.
  • Maintains records by recording and filling physician’s orders and prescriptions.
  • Checks inventory for out-of-date products, removes them, and works with the appropriate resource to record them.
  • Maintains a clean and safe pharmacy environment.
