Pharmacy Technician Data Entry, Customer Service (Overnight)
About The Position
As a Front End Pharmacy Technician with Omnicare, you will perform order-entry tasks and collaborate with team members in the medication-dispensing process at a closed-door pharmacy. The front-end team enters orders, works alongside pharmacists to help ensure accuracy, and provides customer service. The position supports Omnicare, which will operate as an independent, standalone organization following its sale by CVS Health; the person hired will be employed by Omnicare. The role includes triaging customer service requests, calculating or verifying prescription dosages, helping ensure narcotic prescriptions are returned promptly, providing pharmacists with information about allergies, drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other computer alerts, and creating and maintaining accurate customer records. This is a full-time position with 40 anticipated weekly hours. The stated typical pay range is $17.00–$28.46 per hour; another section lists $17.00–$25.15 per hour.
Requirements
- Be a certified, licensed, or registered pharmacy technician, as required by state law.
- Have at least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician or working in a call center.
- Have a verifiable high school diploma or GED.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
- PTCB National Certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform order-entry tasks and collaborate with team members in the medication-dispensing process.
- Triage customer service requests by department, urgency, and the information or response required.
- Calculate and/or verify correct dosage based on prescriptions.
- Assist in reviewing that narcotic prescriptions are returned in a timely manner.
- Provide the dispensing pharmacist with information about allergies, drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other items flagged by the computer.
- Create and maintain accurate customer records.
