Pharmacy Technician Associate - Express Scripts - Tempe, AZ
About The Position
Express Scripts Pharmacy, a division of Evernorth Health Services and The Cigna Group, is seeking an experienced Arizona Certified Pharmacy Technician or an Arizona Licensed Pharmacy Technician Trainee to work onsite at its Tempe Fulfillment Center. The role prepares prescriptions at scale, working with pharmacists and a supportive team to help ensure patients receive medications in a timely manner. Patient questions are handled by another team. The position offers a set weekday schedule and training. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The facility is temperature-controlled. The role requires extended sitting and/or standing, lifting up to 40 pounds, repetitive hand and arm motions, and working near machinery in areas that may be confined and have varying noise levels.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic math skills.
- General PC knowledge, including Microsoft Office, internet use, and email.
- Arizona Pharmacy Technician Trainee license; the posting also seeks Arizona Certified Pharmacy Technicians.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, learn quickly, solve problems, and make decisions.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate heavy work volumes.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for lengthy periods, lift up to 40 pounds, and perform repetitive motions with fingers, hands, and arms.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least one year of relevant Pharmacy Technician experience.
- Pharmacy technician certification.
- Experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within dispensing pharmacy.
Responsibilities
- Select and retrieve appropriate quantities of medication.
- Prepare corresponding prescription labels.
- Work with pharmacists and fulfillment colleagues to help ensure patients receive their medications in a timely manner.
- Use problem-solving skills to address work issues and support prescription fulfillment.
