About The Position

This role is responsible for transporting medications and supplies to pharmacies, enabling partners to perform their duties effectively, and maintaining inventory and a clean pharmacy environment. The position requires compliance with USP 795, 797, and 800, and relevant regulatory standards for medication handling. The assistant will also contribute to the training of new pharmacy assistants, perform drug inventories, rotations, and stock management, and adhere to isolation and radiation precautions. Effective communication via phone and maintaining a clean, orderly pharmacy are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

Must be currently registered with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered.
Expected to obtain PTCB or ExCPT certification within 6 months of hire.
High school diploma or equivalent, required.
Six months of previous pharmacy or customer service experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

Complies with USP 795, 797, and 800, and relevant regulatory standards for medication handling.
Contributes to training of new pharmacy assistants when appropriate.
Transports medications and supplies safely, timely, and accurately to their designated destinations.
Performs drug inventories, rotations, and stock management, including sorting, unpacking, and restocking medications.
Adheres to isolation and radiation precautions and utilizes proper body mechanics when handling medications.
Communicates using customer-friendly phone skills and appropriately directs customer concerns.
Maintains a clean and orderly pharmacy and maintains accurate and timely documentation of completed tasks in designated record keeping systems.
