The UW Medical Center-Montlake Pharmacy Department is looking for an outstanding Pharmacy Technician 2 to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team! Requirements

Six (6) months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician 1 or equivalent education/experience
LEGAL REQUIREMENT State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification

Responsibilities

Perform the duties of a Pharmacy Technician 1
Perform specialized, technical pharmaceutical tasks such as maintaining a controlled substance area and/or automated medication distribution system, and area-specific specialized technical tasks such as hazardous drug preparation
Prepare medications from a physician order which may include compounded sterile products, hazardous medications and extemporaneously prepared doses
Accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations
Prepare sterile products and chemotherapy hazardous medications using appropriate aseptic technique according to USP 797 guidelines
Troubleshoot technical questions related to specialized area.
Serve as a resource to nursing, pharmacy and medical staff for policies and procedures
Maintain all quality assurance documentation required for specialized duties
Participate in monthly outdate and unit inspection program
