About The Position
The UHealth System at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Pharmacy Technician 1 (U) CORE JOB SUMMARY The Pharmacist Technician 1 prepares medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist. Assists the Pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions, price-checking, and restocking of drugs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum: 1 year of experience
- State of FL Pharmacy Technician registration
Responsibilities
- Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records.
- Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.
- Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs.
- Refers providers’ calls and medical questions to Pharmacist.
- Participates in orientation and assigned training program to attain competency in pharmacy technician duties.
- Stays abreast of basic knowledge of pharmacy law, regulations and standards, pharmacy informatics and technology including medication dispensing systems, and pharmacy calculations.
