About The Position

Located in the heart of Washington, Confluence Health enjoys open skies, snow-capped mountains, and the lakes and rivers of the high desert. They are the proud home of orchards, farms, and small communities. Confluence Health actively supports the communities they serve and their quality of life through their community support program and through individual efforts as involved community members. This is a pool position with no guarantee of hours. It is a Campus Flex position covered under the UFCW 3000 contract section 4.05, allowing it to support multiple departments or locations. Pharmacy technicians are skilled or trained in the practical, technical, and distributive aspects of pharmacy practice. They assist pharmacists in the routine, day-to-day functions of pharmacy practice. Through the performance of these tasks and through collaboration and teamwork with pharmacists, technicians enable pharmacists to engage in activities that optimize care and bring value to patients, primarily focusing on the quality and safety of the care provided. Technicians are supervised by licensed pharmacists who verify the accuracy of their job performance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Active Washington State Pharmacy Technician License or active Washington State Pharmacist Intern Registration.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Must possess basic computer skills related to Windows navigation, mouse usage, accurate keyboarding, email communication and password management.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
  • To communicate verbally and in writing in both Spanish and English language with the ability to pass a bilingual fluency evaluation through a CH chosen vendor.

Responsibilities

  • Screens and directs call, takes/forwards messages and relays information accurately.
  • Retrieves and distributes inter-office/external mail, faxes and messages.
  • Admitting patients into the computer system and creating a patient chart.
  • Utilize a computer system for entering and maintaining patient demographic, medical and insurance information.
  • Enters patient medication orders into the pharmacy computer system.
  • Researching patient information needed for calling insurance companies to check eligibility and benefits of patients.
  • Process third-party billing and reconciliation.
  • Adheres to all policy and procedures related to narcotic documentation, distribution and record keeping.
  • Packaging medication and supplies as well as coordinating currier delivery of packages daily.
  • Assists in placing, receiving and processing drug and supply orders and returns.
  • Assists in inventory control and screening stock for outdates.
  • Assists in organizing and maintaining the cleanliness of the department.
  • Use of a cash register and ability to balance the cash drawer at end of day.
  • Prepare bank deposit.
  • May require travel to other CWH pharmacy locations.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Performs other activities/responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the pharmacy department.
  • Communicates positively and effectively in a team approach with co-workers within and outside the department.
  • Required to orient, train, and be regularly scheduled across both campuses.
  • Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.
