About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and dedicated Part-Time Pharmacy Technician to join our clinic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing accessible healthcare services to under-served, uninsured, or low-income populations in our community. You will assist our Staff Pharmacy RN and licensed volunteer pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and supporting patients with kindness and cultural humility.

Requirements

Active State Pharmacy Technician License and Certified Pharmacy Technician (CphT) credential through the PTCB or ExCPT.
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working as a pharmacy technician in a retail, hospital, or community clinic setting.
Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency with pharmacy management software and basic office tools.
A demonstrated passion for public health, healthcare equity, and supporting vulnerable populations.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, or other regional languages commonly spoken by our patient demographic) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately package, label, and dispense prescription medications under the direct supervision of Hope’s staff pharmacy RN and licensed volunteer pharmacists.
Greet patients, answer non-clinical inquiries, assist with prescriptions, refill requests, and connect patients with medication assistance or discount programs.
Monitor medication stock levels and check expiration dates. Work with Pharmacy RN to order medications from retail and charitable sources.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and pharmacy database logs, ensuring strict compliance with HIPAA, state board of pharmacy regulations, and clinic policies.
Process medication assistance applications (MAP), coordinate with Hope Clinic Patient Advocacy, and help maintain a clean, organized, and safe dispensary environment. Learn ordering system for medications.
