Requirements

High School graduate or GED.
Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy, if required by state of employment.

Nice To Haves

1 year previous hospital pharmacy technician experience.
National Certification (CPhT) (may be required by the state of employment).
Current BLS.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a pharmacist, will assist in the technical, non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing and assist in pharmacy operations.
Trained in the compounding of non-sterile medications in accordance with regulatory agencies and organizational policies.
Accurately restock and replenish pharmacy with inventory.
Ensure all expired, damaged, or compromisted medication in pharmacy, automated machines, and floor stock are removed and segregated from active inventory.
Maintain appropriate documentation of activities in accordance with policy, and files appropriate documentation records in a neat and retrievable manner.
Assist in training of newly hired pharmacy technicians.
Prepare sterile intravenous admixtures aseptically and in accordance with USP 797/800, State Board of Pharmacy regulations and organizational policies.
