About The Position

The Pharmacy Tech practices the profession of pharmacy in an environment that promotes patient care through its philosophy and policies. The role requires a friendly approach and remarkable customer service to support overall patient health. The technician handles prescription processing, medication inventory and stocking, customer and prescription data, insurance claims, paperwork, and pharmacy ordering. They also promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services, prioritize their workload, communicate effectively, help maintain an orderly pharmacy, and protect patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory.
Input customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
Stock prescription medication.
Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
Prioritize workload.
Use effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
