About The Position

Under the general supervision of a Staff Pharmacist and according to precise procedures, the Pharmacy Tech assists Pharmacists in filling prescriptions by interpreting, preparing, and distributing medications. The role includes filling medication orders, delivering unit dose medications and sterile products to nursing units, ensuring proper storage on nursing units, accurately stocking automated dispensing cabinets, and repackaging items into unit dose containers when needed. Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
At least 2 years of previous experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy.
State of Indiana licensure as a Pharmacy Technician.

Responsibilities

Fill medication orders with appropriate medications.
Deliver unit dose medication and sterile products to appropriate locations on nursing units.
Ensure items are stored appropriately on nursing units.
Accurately fill automated dispensing cabinets, adjusting quantities and expiration dates while stocking.
Identify items requiring repackaging and use the appropriate packager to package them into unit dose containers.
