About The Position
This position is for a Pharmacy Technician in the Pharmacy Department at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. The role involves assisting the Pharmacist, under supervision, in the daily operation of the Pharmacy. For retail areas, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications. This includes handling day-to-day tasks such as processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and providing customer service. This is an entry-level position that can serve as a stepping stone to more advanced pharmacy technician roles.
Requirements
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required or obtained within 6 months of hire date (this requirement may be waived for current pharmacy students enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy)
- State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required (if required by state regulations)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred
- Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program preferred
- 340B program experience preferred (if at a 340B facility)
