As a vital member of the Pharmacy Team, the Pharmacy Technician assists and supports the Pharmacists by helping to provide accurate, efficient, timely, and personalized pharmaceutical care to our patients.

Requirements

Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent
Must complete CPhT within one (1) year of hire if not already certified
Must complete the SJRMC structured on-the-job didactic and experiential IV compounding training with competency evaluation through demonstration and testing within one (1) year
Must register with the New Mexico State Board of Pharmacy within ten (10) days of date of hire if not already registered

Hospital pharmacy experience

Responsibilities

Drug distribution
Sterile preparations compounding
Order entry
Charging
Filling employee prescriptions
Clerical functions
Assists pharmacists and other colleagues
Department liaison/ambassador
Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship
