About The Position

This position assists pharmacists in dispensing and filling medication orders. Responsibilities include filling unit-dose medication carts daily, assisting in the IV room when assigned, and performing daily rounds to distribute medications to all units/departments. The role also involves transporting medication carts accurately and timely, filling IV medication bins, and managing PYXIS and regular floor stock. Additionally, the Pharmacy Tech will check in and stock orders from various vendors, replenish expired Emergency Boxes, and assist in training new Pharmacy Technicians.

Requirements

• Minimum 1-2 years hospital and/or retail experience
• Certified Pharmacy Technician from an accredited course required
• Registered Pharmacy Technician within the state of NJ required

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacists in dispensing and filling medication orders.
• Fills unit-dose med carts on a daily basis for 24 hour fill.
• Assists pharmacist in IV room when assigned.
• Performs daily rounds at timely intervals to distribute medications to all units/departments.
• Transports medication carts in an accurate and timely fashion.
• Fills IV medication bins when low and add-vantaging on a daily basis.
• Fills all PYXIS and regular floor stock on a daily basis to all units/departments requesting.
• Appropriately checks in and stocks all Cardinal (Wholesaler) orders as well as various other vendors.
• Replenishes expired Emergency Boxes.
• Assists in the training of all new Pharmacy Technicians.
