Requirements

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • 2 years Pharmacy Technician Experience
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification
  • Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly

Responsibilities

  • Works under supervision of a Pharmacy Manager, or other pharmacist.
  • Assist Pharmacy Technicians in accomplishment of routine daily workload demands, and helping achieve department goals.
  • Assist the Pharmacist in prioritizing medication orders, and works closely with Pharmacist Supervisory in determining routine daily department needs.
  • Performs advanced medication order functions such as order interpretation, preparation, drug distribution, and quality assurance.
  • Lead Technician is responsible for all pharmacy technician activities and work schedules.
  • Provides direction and guidance to technicians in pharmacy drug distribution and operational matters.
  • Actively reviews technician performance and is involved in providing and ensuring that educational opportunities are being pursued by each individual.
  • Completes annual performance Assessments and ensures that skill competency training is completed annually.
  • Accomplished in performing all technician tasks and functions, and teaches all technicians concerning new policies.
  • Incumbant must maintain certification. In the event that employee fails to maintain certification, they will be required to re-certify within six months.
