About The Position

The Pharmacy Tech IV is responsible for preparing medication admixtures and IV solutions, unit-dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounded solutions or medications for critical care and operating room satellite areas. The position maintains adequate stock levels in assigned areas and follows written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. The technician works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practices, and performs other Pharmacy Technician duties as needed. This is a PRN position at Piedmont Columbus Northside.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures.
• PTCB certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medication admixtures for IV solutions.
• Prepare unit-dose syringes and chemotherapy medications.
• Compound solutions and medications used in critical care and OR satellite areas.
• Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
• Follow standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations.
• Work with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practices.
• Perform Pharmacy Technician duties as needed.
