About The Position

This PRN/As Needed Pharmacy Technician role for Operating Room & Critical Care is located at the Burnet Campus. It offers a flexible schedule, ideal for individuals pursuing education. The position involves rotating through key pharmacy areas, working closely with pharmacists and clinical teams to prepare and distribute medications, support medication delivery, replenish automated dispensing cabinets, maintain inventory, and compound sterile and non-sterile medications. It is a hands-on, detail-driven role where accuracy, teamwork, and urgency are paramount.

Requirements

At least 6 months of pharmacy technician experience
Pharmacy technician certification (or ability to obtain within 18 months)
High school diploma or equivalent
A detail-oriented, team-first mindset
Active registration with the OH Board of Pharmacy
Must be PTCB certified and OH Board of Pharmacy certified within 18 months of hire.
ASHP accredited program graduate OR licensed as a Pharmacy Intern OR 6 months of pharmacy related experience

Responsibilities

Perform unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses.
Prepare non-sterile, non-hazard doses for first fill or cartfill, including oral syringes from liquid dosage forms.
Deliver patient-specific doses.
Prepare and perform Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) replenishment.
Compound non-sterile, non-hazardous medications.
Perform outpatient pharmacy phone triage.
Perform insurance adjudication.
Perform medication storage inspections.
Interact with pharmacy automated dispensing machines and hospital computer systems.
