About The Position

The Pharmacy Tech Entry Lvl 1 practices the profession of pharmacy in an environment whose philosophy and policies promote patient care. This person is friendly and provides remarkable customer service to enhance overall patient health.

The role supports prescription processing and pharmacy operations, including retrieving, ordering, and stocking medication; entering customer and prescription information; preparing prescription labels; adjudicating insurance claims; and completing related paperwork. The technician also promotes pharmacy initiatives and clinical services, prioritizes workload, communicates effectively, supports change, maintains a clean and orderly pharmacy, and protects patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory.
• Input customer and prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stock prescription medication.
• Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
• Prioritize workload.
• Use effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
• Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
