Join the BJH Institute of Health sterile compounding team, home to the largest sterile compounding suite at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. This highly specialized operation produces thousands of sterile preparations daily and operates under Missouri Board of Pharmacy oversight, including annual regulatory inspections. The suite features two non-hazardous buffer rooms, one hazardous buffer room, an integrated ISO 7 workgroup for inventory processing, automated compounding technology, and nine primary engineering controls. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, optimizing systems and workflows, and maintaining the highest standards of sterile compounding quality and regulatory compliance. Sterile compounding experience is strongly preferred. This leadership position is responsible for supervising daily sterile compounding operations, ensuring workflow efficiency and compliance, recruiting and training pharmacy staff, and supporting the professional growth of direct reports. The role also leads quality improvement initiatives through workflow analysis, data review, and PDSA projects, while conducting regulatory compliance audits such as CSP and SOP observations. Additional responsibilities include active participation in the BJC Sterile Compounding Committee and related subcommittees. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative leader looking to make a significant impact on one of the region's most complex and innovative sterile compounding operations.
