About The Position

The Pharmacy Student aids pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care services to patients by assisting in the preparation, dispensing, record keeping, and transporting of medications for all patients including the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescence, adult, and geriatric. Under minimal supervision, the Pharmacy Student performs the required duties of a technician at a high level of proficiency, demonstrating exemplary work behaviors and ownership for the success of the work area.

Requirements

  • Current certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and licensed by the Virginia Board of Pharmacy OR Current registration as a Pharmacy Intern with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.
  • Clean criminal record (i.e. no felony conviction; no drug or pharmacy related convictions, including misdemeanors; no denial, suspension, revocation or restriction of registration or licensure by any State Board of Pharmacy).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Enrolled as a current student in an accredited School of Pharmacy Program.
  • Must be available to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency coverage.

Responsibilities
