About The Position

South Country Co-op is seeking a customer-focused Pharmacy Student to join their team as a Pharmacy Assistant in a seasonal position at Northlands Pharmacy in Medicine, AB. The role reports to the Pharmacy Manager and works under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist on Duty. Key responsibilities include technical duties such as data entry and preliminary prescription filling, with a strong emphasis on direct patient contact to ensure a positive patient experience. The duties are limited by the Provincial Regulatory Body. This position is ideal for highly organized, customer-focused individuals who can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy Technician Diploma program at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient data entry skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to adapt to new technology
• High level of integrity and professionalism
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
• Microsoft Office experience is an asset

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and support positive patient experiences
• Assist with data entry and prescription processing
• Support preliminary filling of prescriptions under supervision
• Assist pharmacy staff with daily operational tasks
• Respond to customer and patient inquiries in a professional manner
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with pharmacy regulations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the pharmacy
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Other duties as assigned
