About The Position

Seeking rising P2 students for a Pharmacy Student Intern opportunity. This role will provide PRN coverage for days, nights, and weekend shifts. The intern will support and incorporate the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy into their job performance, adhering to the FH Compliance Program, regulatory requirements, and FH Standards of Behavior. Under the mentorship of a licensed pharmacist, the intern will execute tasks similar to a pharmacy technician in both inpatient and outpatient settings, assisting the pharmacist, patients, pharmacy technician specialist, and other healthcare providers within the medication distribution system.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required.
Currently enrolled in an accredited school for a doctor of pharmacy program.
Registered Pharmacy Technician or Registered Student Pharmacy intern through the MD State Board of Pharmacy required.
Basic computer/keyboard skills.
Good understanding of experience with medical terminology.
Able to participate in all aspects of drug distribution.
Able to communicate with other hospital employees.
Able to prioritize work based on acuity/need.
Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the following age groups: Neonate (0 thru 30 days), Infant (31 thru 12 months), Child (13 months thru 12 years), Adult (18 years thru 65 years), Geriatric (66+ years).

Nice To Haves

Pharmacy technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Execute tasks of a pharmacy technician or technician specialist under the mentorship and guidance of a licensed pharmacist.
Perform a variety of duties and technical tasks to assist the pharmacist, patients, pharmacy technician specialist, and other healthcare providers.
Assist with the entire medication distribution system for hospital patients.
Provide PRN coverage for days, nights, and weekend shifts.
