About The Position

As a Pharmacy Shipping Clerk, you play a vital role in patient care by ensuring medications arrive safely, accurately, and on time to clinics and patients’ homes. This position is ideal for detail‑oriented pharmacy technicians who enjoy logistics, coordination, and being a trusted link between the pharmacy team and the patient experience. Your work directly supports therapies that require temperature‑controlled packaging and special handling, making precision and accountability essential. With endorsement from the Pharmacy Manager, this role also offers the opportunity to participate in a Pharmacy Technician training and development pathway, providing a strong foundation for growth within pharmacy operations.

Requirements

  • Active State of Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician License is required at the time of application
  • Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining active licensure
  • If additional licensure is required, the employee must commit to obtaining it within an agreed‑upon timeframe
  • Strong interpersonal and phone communication skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and accurately extract relevant information
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Exceptionally detail‑oriented and quality‑driven
  • Reliable, dependable, and accountable

Nice To Haves

  • 0–12 months of related pharmacy, shipping, or healthcare operations experience preferred
  • Entry‑level candidates with strong attention to detail and motivation are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Accurately verify prescription orders against delivery tickets prior to shipment
  • Process prescriptions through POS and apply the correct payment method
  • Package medications using appropriate temperature‑sensitive and specialty supplies
  • Enter and validate shipping data in UPS WorldShip and Dynamex with exceptional attention to detail
  • Track shipments and proactively confirm successful deliveries
  • Investigate, resolve, and communicate delivery issues with internal teams and carrier partners
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff to clarify incomplete or inaccurate delivery documentation
  • Organize outbound packages by delivery method and priority
  • Transport clinic‑administered medications to on‑site pharmacy locations as needed
  • Perform other related duties to support pharmacy operations
