About The Position
The Pharmacy Resident position at UAB St. Vincent's is responsible for assuring the appropriate selection, dosing, administration, and monitoring of medication orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role involves reviewing and verifying physician orders, managing medication therapy protocols within a physician-pharmacist-nurse team, compounding and dispensing medications, and providing medication information and education to medical staff and patients. Requirements
- Registered Pharmacist credentialed from the Alabama Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Enrolled OR graduate of an accredited Pharmacy degree program
Responsibilities
- Assure appropriate selection, dosing, administration and monitoring of medication orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Review, verify and enter physician orders into the patient medication profile.
- Manage medication therapy protocols as a part of physician-pharmacist-nurse team.
- Compound and dispense medications accurately for delivery to patient care areas.
- Provide medication information and education to medical staff and patients.
