Pharmacy Resident
About The Position
This position is for a Pharmacy Resident at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. The resident will work Monday - Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The role involves assuring appropriate selection, dosing, administration, and monitoring of medication orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Responsibilities include reviewing and verifying physician orders, managing medication therapy protocols, compounding and dispensing medications, and providing medication information and education to medical staff and patients. Requirements
- Registered Pharmacist credentialed from the Alabama Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Enrolled OR graduate of an accredited Pharmacy degree program
Responsibilities
- Assure appropriate selection, dosing, administration and monitoring of medication orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Review, verify and enter physician orders into the patient medication profile.
- Manage medication therapy protocols as a part of physician-pharmacist-nurse team.
- Compound and dispense medications accurately for delivery to patient care areas.
- Provide medication information and education to medical staff and patients.
